Changes

It is 15 years since I began my studies to become a spiritual director. There is something about that number that has me looking back over this tremendous season of my life. I could never have imagined where that would lead in terms of my own personal growth, the relationships I have developed with directees and retreat participants, and the ongoing path of learning and professional development – not to mention sustaining me through very challenging life events. I have been deeply nourished by this work and it has become the foundation on which all other work I do rests.

Almost a year ago I joined the Spiritual Care Department of Niagara Health, where I am a Spiritual Care Practitioner for the Welland, Port Colborne, and Fort Erie hospitals. I feel so grateful to have returned to the Niagara Health team where I completed a residency in my M.A. program in 2018-19 and to be engaged in emotional and spiritual care for patients in healthcare.

Full-time work elsewhere has necessitated a change in how I offer spiritual direction. I regret that I am unable to accept new directees at this time.

I am reminded that seasons change. We grow. How we offer our work to the world evolves.

If you’re here and wondering if spiritual direction might be right for you, I want to offer some recommendations:
